For the 2016 model year, Mercedes-AMG is set to release its most ambitious, powerful and luxurious vehicle yet: the completely new 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S. This revolutionary miracle of engineering is unlike anything else on the market while still being everything you expect from the innovators at Mercedes-AMG. From its dramatic exterior look to its interior reminiscent of a plane cockpit to its engine that generates more power than you could ever dream of, there's nothing but opulence, verve and raw muscle in the makeup of the GT S. It's the ultimate sports car.

From the very start, the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S is redefining the modern coupe. The frame is built primarily from aluminum, with more than 90% composed of this durable but lightweight metal. Meanwhile, the magnesium radiator core support reduces the weight in the front of the car and makes for tighter turns. The beating heart of the GT S is a hand-built AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine that produces an unbelievable 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, good for a zero-to-60 acceleration speed of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 193 mph. The engine, designed by AMG engineers specifically for the GT S, is the first in a sports car to use dry sump lubrication and house the turbos inside the V of the engine. Every aspect of this vehicle was designed with ultimate performance in mind.

The interior of the GT S is akin to the cockpit of the highest-end aviation machine, with a dashboard reminiscent of wings and a prominent center console. Only the best materials are present in the GT S' control center, from the black Nappa leather seating and steering wheel to the black-diamond precious-metal trim. A screen that lights up with an animation of the GT S when it turns on and a red-highlighted 220 mph speedometer round out the interior flair.

The 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S will begin making its way to dealerships in the spring of 2016. Keep in touch with our Mercedes-Benz dealership in Tiverton, RI and don't miss out on any of the exciting news about this incredible next-generation vehicle.
